Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow nights of air raids in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
